If it was a consumption tax someone buying a half million dollar car would still pay much more than someone who buys a thirty thousand dollars for one. What you insinuated is that Bill Gates should pay the same as you, if you think it is stealing from him for him to pay more than you. The way the tax structure is, it could be quite possible that Bill Gates would actually pay less than you, even if his tax rate went up from 36% to 39%. 3% increase is only what billionaires would expect.When the tax rate for billionaires dropped from 70% to 39% during the Reagan tax cuts, mine dropped to nothing, because all those loop holes he closed were the only ones that affected the middle class. I wonder do you even know what rate you pay?
